Morning BINS
2009-10 Court Kings #129 Stephen Curry /649 PSA 10
Pop: 46 | Previous Price: $10,000
I recorded an episode of “Daily Upside” today, explaining the reasons as to why I believe this card is undervalued, but unfortunately I didn’t hit the record button, so expect to see that tomorrow.
But for those of you who don’t want to wait, here’s the short version. I don’t believe any Stephen Curry Rookie Auto that’s graded a Gem-Mint PSA 10 should be under $10,000.
That’s it, that’s the alpha.
2018-19 Contenders Optic “Facing Right” #124 Trae Young PSA 10
POP 22 | Previous Price: N/A
There are only 37 PSA 10 Contender Optics rookie autographs of Trae Young, 37, that’s including both his “Facing Left” and his “Facing Right”.
If you know anything about Optic parallels then you know they are extremely difficult to grade. If Trae Young goes on to be Stephen Curry 2.0 then this is easily a $20,000 card assuming the market is in demand during that time. I know that’s a big number, but trust me, collectors will want this card!
Right now the sentiment on the Optic set isn’t as bullish as the paper Contenders rookie auto, but I think that’ll change if you’re willing to be a long term holder.
This isn’t just a long term hold though, I believe at the current BIN this card is undervalued, especially since Luka’s Contenders Optic PSA 10 recently sold for $10,500 on eBay and a Trae Contenders PSA 10 recently sold for $4,000+ on eBay as well.
I think this card is fairly priced, especially with a POP of 15, but if you’r daring, you might get lucky with a best offer. Just hope that no one snags it before you.
2019-20 Contenders Premium Edition Gold #118 Ja Morant /10 PSA 10
POP: 1 | Target Price: N/A
I know, I know. This is crazy, but I do believe it’s a good deal. Gold cards are huge, but in the future, they are going to be HUGE! Recently we saw a Trae Young Prizm Gold PSA 10 sell for $180,000, so $69,000 for what I think is the best set from Panini (outside of National Treasures) just seems like a steal, especially if Ja continues this level of consistency.
Now I don’t recommend anyone hit this BIN, however a solid offer could snag you this card. This is obviously not a short-term investment and it’s also important to point out that the autograph on this card isn’t the best, but if you’re in the market for a high-end risky investment then this may be the one.
